Assessment on environment-induced population resettlement design, planning and implementation and its implication for rural community development

Brief description of project/Objectives: In response to MARD’s request for further research on environment-induced resettlement, the assessment falls under a Joint Programme between the United Nations and the Government of Vietnam toward implementation of the National Target Programme on New Rural Development (NTP-NRD) or ‘Tam Nong’.
Under the Joint Programme, IOM will conduct an assessment on the different resettlement models and their implication for community development as well as on the gap between the government policies and current practices in term of consultation, resettlement planning and implementation, and develop recommendations on key issues, policies and strategies on maximizing the impact of resettlement programmes for rural development where relevant.
