Deliver the information and policies against irregular migration from Vietnam to Australia by boat
Nghe An, 17th-18th March 2016
During 17-18th March, IOM Viet Nam, in cooperation with Provincial Border Guard, distributed the materials to fishermen and boat owners in Nghe An at the seaport to deliver the information and policies against irregular migration from Vietnam to Australia by boat.
In addition, Women’s Union and Farmer’s Association of Dien Thinh commune cooperated to successfully organize the mixed communication activities for local people to raise public awareness for better irregular migration prevention, as well as safe migration ways to avoid being cheated or involved in irregular migration activities, especially to Australia by boat.
Residents there expressed deep concern about this issue, asking various questions related to Australia's immigration policies. Local authorities and related organizations also showed their commitment in collaboration and involvement in the communication campaign, with the responses to prevent this issue.
