IOM Viet Nam, in cooperation with provincial and local Border Guards, organised a community screening event for 250 students at a vocational school in Quang Binh province
Quang Binh, 29 August 2016
On 29 August, IOM Viet Nam, in cooperation with provincial and local Border Guards, organised a community screening event for 250 students at a vocational school in Quang Binh province to deliver information and policies against irregular migration from Vietnam to Australia by boat. This included information on how to avoid being cheated or involved in irregular migration activities.
After watching videos on IOM communication campaign and the interview of an illegal migrant who was sent back by the Australian authorities, the students were very enthusiastic to participate in a fun quiz. Most students demonstrated very good understanding of the campaign messages, including Australia's immigration policies as well as options for safe and legal migration.
