IOM Vietnam Conducted Training on Provision of Direct Reintegration Assistance to Returned Victims of Trafficking
On the 20th of January 2017, IOM Vietnam in cooperation with the HCMC Department of Social Vices Prevention (DSVP) conducted a one-day training for DSVP officers on the provision of direct reintegration assistance to returned victims of trafficking (VOTs) in terms of livelihood, psychosocial and legal support. The training was funded by the Italian Development Cooperation (IDC) office, with the participation of representatives from Blue Dragon Vietnam and Tay Ninh DSVP.
Participants actively shared their experiences and discussed better practices as well as possible future cooperation in delivering assistance to VOTs with a practical, client-centered and rights-based approach. On a side discussion, they also shared information on the cooperation between the Vietnamese and Cambodian governments for the repatriation of Cambodian minors stranded in Vietnam working as street beggars.
