Local Organizations and Commune Leaders on Human Trafficking Prevention and Returned Victim Assistance
Tay Ninh, 11th May 2016
In the morning of May 11th, IOM in collaboration with the Department of Social Vice Prevention of Tay Ninh successfully organized a Seminar for Local Organizations and Commune Leaders on Human Trafficking Prevention and Returned Victim Assistance. The event attracted over 50 delegates from the provincial authorities, local leaders and victims of trafficking.
The overall objective of the workshop is to engage leaders of different villages, hamlets and wards of Tay Ninh Province in the area of human trafficking prevention, as well as to provide assistance to victims of trafficking in the localities. By bringing different agencies and the community leaders to one forum to discuss the issue of human trafficking, with the coverage of trafficking risks from marriage with foreigners and labour export, the awareness of community leaders has been improved, enabling the local leaders at grass-root level to become an efficient force in the area of trafficking prevention.
