Policy dialogues in Nghe An
Nghe An, 19 July 2016
On July 19, in Quynh Thuan and Quynh Long communes of Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, IOM Viet Nam in collaboration with the Women's Union of Nghe An and Quynh Luu district organized 2 policy dialogues for about 800 local residents about safe migration, prevention of human trafficking and irregular migration.
Representatives from the Legal Aid Centre, Bureau of Labour and Employment, District Police, Bank for Social Policies, Women's Union at different levels and IOM joined the chairing committee to answer the questions and concerns raised by the participants. The participants there have raised a lot of questions about labour policies, procedures for working abroad, the situation of irregular migration, procedures for loans supporting to work abroad, legal procedures for marrying foreigners, support for victims of trafficking and the risks during and after the labour migration process.
All participants were very excited to learn about the Migrant Resource Centre in Nghe An, a reliable address for questions about labor migration and safe migration in the future.
This is an activity under an IOM project funded by the Department of Population, Refugees and Migrants of the US Department of States until September 2016 in Nghe An.
