The project closing workshop in Tay Ninh
Tay Ninh, 24 November 2016
On November 24, the Closing Workshop for the Project “Addressing Migrant Vulnerabilities to Prevent Human Trafficking and Protect Victims, Particularly Children, in Targeted Special Economic Zones and Economic Corridors in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Viet Nam” was successfully organized between IOM Vietnam and Department of Social Vice Prevention (DSVP) of Tay Ninh. The event was participated by delegates from the Italian Development Cooperation, Central DSVP, Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Tay Ninh and other agencies, delegates from other provinces within project sites, from enterprises in the industrial zones, secondary schools, community leaders and self-help group members.
The workshop summarized the various project activities from July 2015 to November 2016, including such communication events as film public screenings in the industrial zones, drama performance and painting contest at schools. policy dialogues on safe migration, counter-trafficking lessons, workshops with the private sector and such support as psychological support, health support, income-generation support and vocational trainings support to returned victims of trafficking through self-help group model
The workshop demonstrated the project results including paintings of pupils on human trafficking prevention, performance of drama extraction by self-help group members, screening of a video on project activities, sharing of schools on project impacts on students’ awareness and of self-help group members on their life changes upon receiving project support. At the workshop, the People's Committee of Tay Ninh Province has recognized efforts and awarded certificates to provincial DSVP, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and IOM Vietnam for its technical and financial assistance.
