TMSV - Training workshops on "Raising awareness and responsibilities of stakeholders in prevention of forced labour and human trafficking" in Hai Phong, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh

International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized a training workshop on "Raising awareness and responsibilities of stakeholders in prevention of forced labour and human trafficking" for officers of Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) and businesses in Hai Phong, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.

The workshops aimed at raising the awareness of all stakeholders about modern slavery and the vulnerabilities and challenges faced by migrant workers in supply chains. During the interactive training, participants had the opportunity to learn, exchange experiences and share difficulties in taking action to end modern slavery at the grassroots level.

After the workshops, the local officials have better understood their responsibilities and are ready to commit to join hands to fight against forced labor and human trafficking. Representatives of businesses also realized the need to have policies in the business to protect workers’ rights when businesses participate in the global supply chain, especially after Vietnam has signed Free Trade Agreements.

This activity is within the project “Tackling Modern Slavery in Viet Nam” (TMSV).
