Multilateral Workshop on Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking between Quang Tri (Vietnam), Savannakhet and Salavan (Laos), and Mukdahan (Thailand)
Quang Tri, July 22
On July 22, IOM in collaboration with the Women's Union of Quang Tri successfully organized the Multilateral Workshop on Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking between Quang Tri (Vietnam), Savannakhet and Salavan (Laos), and Mukdahan (Thailand).
The workshop has received the active participation and effective exchange of delegates from the Women’s Union in Quang Tri, Savannakhet and Salavan provinces, Women's Development Committee in Mukdahan Province, with such competent agencies in four provinces as People's Committee, Police, Border Guards ...
The real situation, communication activities and experiences with challenges in the prevention of human trafficking have been exchanged towards the establishment of a joint action program for four provinces. The workshop also discussed the mechanism for information exchange and regular briefings to promote multilateral cooperation of these provinces in three countries.
This activity is part of the project “Addressing Migrant Vulnerabilities to Prevent Human Trafficking and Protect Victims, Particularly Children, in Targeted Special Economic Zones & Economic Corridors in Cambodia, Viet Nam and Lao PDR” funded of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of Italy.
